We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain basic building equipment in a large, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will support our Fabrication Department by ensuring that all facilities equipment is maintained and/or fixed as needed. The chosen candidate will have 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
DUTIES & SCOPE:
- Maintain all facilities systems and equipment, including life safety and security systems.
- Conducts and documents weekly safety inspections for all departments and property.
- Maintain PM plan for all equipment.
- POC (Proof of concept) of estimates, negotiates contracts, and oversees outsourced repairs.
- Performs Pro-Active diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Ensures that maintenance work follows OSHA and corporate safety standards.
- Develop, maintain, and secure spare parts inventory.
- Ensures that maintenance goals and milestones are met and accomplished within budget.
- Is responsible for the communication to production bay leads for scheduled maintenance and/or repairs for machinery or equipment.
- Fulfills and completes all WO/IO designated for maintenance related issues.
- Keep the maintenance cage clean and always organized.
- Track all tools that are out for repair.
- Will work in other departments at times we are slow.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
- Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required.
- Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts (if required).
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
