Job Description:
Helix Electric is seeking a dynamic State Certified Lead Journeyman Electrician to join our production-driven team. As a lead electrician, you will be responsible for performing electrical installations and troubleshooting in commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a crew of 2-15 as a lead electrician with proven experience
- Assemble, install, maintain, and test electrical equipment and wiring systems
- Prepare work areas for installation
- Install electrical components and connect wiring according to code and job specifications
- Operate equipment only after receiving proper training and certification
- Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, and cable vacuum systems
- Read blueprints and electrical drawings to install electrical systems as specified
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans
Requirements:
- State Journeyman Electrician Certification (required in states where necessary or highly desirable)
- A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget
- Excellent working knowledge of Building Codes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Demands:
- Work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather
- Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves) at all times, and respirator when required
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, lifting heavy objects, and pushing/pulling
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
