HELIX Environmental Planning, Inc. (HELIX), a California-based environmental consulting and planning firm, is seeking an As-needed Landscape Project Manager to support our Folsom office location. This position will report to our Landscape Architecture Group Manager.
HELIX provides landscape architecture, environmental planning, biological resources, regulatory compliance, habitat restoration, cultural resources, acoustical, air quality, and GIS services to both public and private sector clients. Our landscape architecture group works on a range of environmentally focused design and planning projects, including parks and recreation, housing, streetscapes, infrastructure, and civil and institutional work.
We are looking for a candidate with strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven ability to complete assigned tasks within time and budget constraints. This individual must have the ability to coordinate effectively with staff to prioritize and complete high-quality work within specified deadlines. They must also possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships among team members, other HELIX staff, clients, subconsultants, and agencies. Tasks include the development of master plans, conceptual plans, construction documents, and construction administration services for a wide range and scale of projects. Remote work will be considered.
This is an as-needed position and will be utilized to supplement our full-time workforce. You will not be guaranteed a minimum number of hours.
Hourly wages will be based on qualifications and/or experience. Expected starting pay range of $40.00 to $52.00 per hour.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements for an As-Needed Landscape Project Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture
- Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in landscape architecture
- At least five (5) years of project management experience as the person responsible for project or task budgets, schedules, deliverables, client contact and staff management
- Competence in the preparation of all aspects of construction documents, including layout, grading, irrigation, planting, details, specifications, and cost estimates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Knowledge of northern CA native plants
- Competency in irrigation design including layout, water-use calculations, scheduling, and an understanding of MWELO requirements
Requirements considered a plus:
- Experience with ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, or Rhino
- Experience or coursework in ecology, biology, land use planning, environmental engineering, and related topics
- California irrigation auditor certification (CLIA)
