Director of Education
The Director of Education is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to all school programs in the Springfield and Berkshire locations, and for ensuring that all school programs and activities meet with all licensing, educational and academic standards. Additionally, the Director of Education is responsible for new educational program development, satellite programs, and community-educational programming.
The Mill Pond Schools, with locations in Springfield and the Berkshires, serve students—kindergarten through age 22—who have social-emotional and/or behavioral challenges, a learning disability, or who may have a diagnosis of high-functioning Autism. We are committed to serving the whole child, including the child’s family. Our goal is to assist students in developing the skills necessary to successfully return to a less-restrictive environment, and, ultimately, to their previous school setting.
Schedule
Monday through Friday shift, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Qualifications
- Requires a master’s degree in education, Special Education or related field.
- Requires Massachusetts’s certification or ability to be certified in Special Education and School Administration.
- Requires at least five years of teaching experience, preferably experience with children with emotional and/or behavioral disorders.
- Requires administrator license with three years’ experience.
- Requires current valid driver’s license.
- Requires completion of all agency and licensing body mandated trainings.
- Must successfully pass CORI and Fingerprinting background checks.
