Hell's Bay Boatworks is looking for an experienced individual to join our Rigging Department with our Production Team. The ideal candidate must meet the criteria below.
Hell's Bay Boatworks is a Drug Free Workplace, Pre-employment drug screening is require.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years working experience in the Marine Industry, Rigging department
- Ability to stand, stoop, move for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move and lift heavy materials and equipment
- Obtain fork lift certification within 1st week (provided by employer)
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
- Shift: availability to work a 10 hour days, 4-days a week (Tuesday-Friday 6:00AM-4:30PM)
Duties:
- Hang engines according to manufacturers specs
- Install consoles, hatch lids, hardware, cushions, rub rails and custom accessories
- Rig trim tabs jack plates, transducers, trolling motors, electrical components, (including but not limited to; GPS units, onboard charging systems, batteries, etc.).
- Install poling towers, casting platforms etc.
- Perform rigging tasks to safely move heavy equipment and materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and disassemble rigging equipment
- Inspect rigging equipment for damage or wear and perform maintenance as needed
- Communicate with team members to coordinate rigging operations
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment
Skills:
- Be able to use a variety of hand tools, razor knives, scissors, power tools, and overhead hoists.
- Mechanical knowledge to understand the principles of rigging and lifting heavy objects
- Proficiency in using calipers and other measuring tools for precise measurements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Basic electrical knowledge for working with electrical components during rigging operations
- Familiarity with marine industry rigging techniques.
- Experience with boat maintenance for inspecting and maintaining rigging equipment mounted on recreational boats.
- Proficiency in using hand tools for assembling, disassembling, and adjusting rigging equipment
- Ability to fabricate and assemble custom rigging solutions as needed
- Have the flexibility to work overtime both planned and unplanned to meet company goals.
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
- Must follow all safety standards and procedures
- Must adhere to all quality standards
- Must demonstrate a record of dependability and reliability with prior work experience
- Must be able to work well with teams and in close proximity to each other
- Able to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English.
Physical Demands while performing the duties of this job: The employee is regularly required to: stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Required to walk, climb or balance; stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. Be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions: The employee must lift/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to , with or without assistance perform the above mentioned duties of this job.
