ASSISTANT TO THE TOWNSHIP MANAGER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Township complaints by assigning to the appropriate department head and follow through to resolution
- Oversee On-lot Disposal System (OLDS) program including: maintaining records, logging septic permits, sending notifications to township residents through bulk mailing, issuing repair letters, involving the Zoning Officer when formal citations need to be made
- Log Right to Know forms and process as directed by the Right to Know Officer
- Update Current Tax Billing property owners’ list and OLDs spreadsheet as new owner information becomes available
- Acts as the Safety Committee Facilitator
- Coordinate with the Township Manager to ensure that the Non-Uniform Employee Handbook, forms and Position Profiles are reviewed and updated every four years
- Provide support to the Supervisors, non-uniform staff, Boards and Committee members with the day-to-day questions of using their individual electronic devices
- Assist all staff with the Digium Phone system for password issues
- Maintain all office equipment throughout the Administrative and Public Works Offices
- Ensure follow up on projects as assigned by the Township Manager
- Compile weekly reports for all current and completed activities to the Township Manager
- Submit approval request to the Township Manager to attend webinars, events, meetings or educational credits to maintain acquired accreditation
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Township Manager
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to multitask multiple projects under time and resource pressure
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive records and proceedings within the Township Office
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, typing and personal computers in a Windows operating system environment with extensive knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), virtual meeting platforms, social media applications and communication tools
- Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines with minimal direction
- Knowledge and experience with municipal government policies and procedures
- Have a valid PA driver’s license.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
