The Human Resources Assistant will work within the HR team and collaborate with the management to recruit, hire, and conduct onboarding. The Human Resources Assistant will work within the HR team and collaborate with the management to recruit, hire, and conduct onboarding. This position also aims to enhance staff relations through the consistent application of company standards and serves as a role model for employees through professionalism and strong work habits.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate within HR and with the management team on staffing needs.
- Recruit by working within HR to create job ads and post ads, review and forward potential candidates to Management for review, prescreen potential candidates via phone and coordinate interviews with candidates.
- Communicate with Management and HR to schedule interviews.
- Create calendars for interviews following up with interviewer to find out status of candidate updating it in Paychex HRIS system.
- Schedule new hire orientation and onboarding by contacting them via phone and emailing a Welcome email with position required dress code and onboarding email from Paychex.
- Conduct new hire orientation and communicate new hires to appropriate Management Team via email, texting and outlook calendar.
- Conduct new hire full onboarding into payroll, Aloha and Hotschedules.
- Maintain employee records including 1-9s, new hire documentation and any other employee documentation in both hard copy files and electronic files.
- Process WOTC credit documentation, conduct E-Verify on all new hires.
- Handle various HR administrative tasks such as filing and be in reception rotation.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Knowledge of HR concepts and principles.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills across all employee levels.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and payroll software is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar HR position with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Food Safety certification is preferred
- Degree or certification in HR or a related field is preferred or a combination of experience and education as described above.
