Bookkeeper/ Accountant Position at a Church in Buffalo
Historic church in downtown Buffalo area is seeking a bookkeeper/accountant for a 24 – 40 hours/week position in the church’s office.
The ideal applicant must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, and hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. Prior nonprofit office experience is a plus, but not required. The church uses Realm Connect and Accounting software from ACS Technologies to manage payroll and track our data. Familiarity with this application or general fund accounting software is a plus, but not required.
Detailed list of job responsibilities:
- Accounts payable - entering/reconciling invoices, printing and mailing checks
- Accounts receivable - contributions, tithes and donations; bank deposits, bank reconciliation
- General ledger - payroll entries, journal adjustments, month-end and year-end closings
- Reporting - balance sheet, income and expense reporting, contributor statements
- Some reasonable responsibilities of office management
Salary is $20 to $22/hour depending on qualifications. A minimum of 24 hours/week is required.
