Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Maintenance and Automation Manager, the Level 2 Automation Technician is responsible for HellermannTyton's specific automated and semi-automated equipment and extraction / placement robots. An AT-2's main focus should be training AT-0, AT-1, and production employees when necessary, identifying and writing procedures and technical documents, handling more complex electrical and mechanical diagnosis, repairs, and adjustments.
Essential Functions
Performs all AT-1 Essential Functions
Writes at least two approved standard operating procedures, training documents, or MP2 instructions per year
Trains department new-hires on proper repairs, changeovers, preventive maintenance (PM), and other duties or programs with the help of departmental technicians as assigned.
Assists training Process Technicians with automation-related topics when required.
Able to upload / download programs or firmware on HMIs, PLCs, Star Robots, Printers, etc.
Able to edit PLC’s (Clean up rungs, add or remove rungs, set fault traps) if necessary, without negative repercussions.
Able to do electrical upgrades and interfacing to automation. (Ex: Upgrading HMI, adding HMI’s, upgrading drives, etc.)
Qualifications
Has completed Mechatronics program, Automation Systems associate degree, or 5 years of relevant experience.
Must have a valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record and adequate insurance.
