Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the Lead Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible to lead and support the production department in terms of safety, production, quality, cost, delivery technical and human resources. Manage all aspects of the shift through collaborative working with the other shifts Lead Manufacturing Supervisors for delivering, and where possible, exceeding, the key performance indicators within the operation. Strive to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality. Develop an engaged culture.
Essential Functions:
Ensures the safety of all associates in the manufacturing area.
Continuously improves safe work practices and environments, which includes housekeeping.
Ensure all safety incidents are thoroughly investigated, documented, and communicated and put strong corrective actions in place to prevent future occurrences.
Promotes a safety first culture.
Coordinates with the planning department in the development and execution of daily schedule.
Ensures critical item delivery updates and changes are communicated and executed effectively.
Coordinates with other shifts to provide seamless shift turnover and manpower coverage.
Ensures shift performance notes are thorough and accurate.
Monitor the internal non-conformance system and support the disposition decisions on the shift.
Communicate and escalate internal quality and process concerns.
Audit quality process controls and standard work to ensure compliance to the control plan.
Follow-up on non-compliances.
Assure that all assigned associates have the training, tools, and equipment to complete and perform their responsibilities.
Ensures accurate and complete training records are maintained for the shift.
Ensure the on-boarding process is effective.
Maintains appropriate staffing levels for the shift.
Order/cancel temps through HR as required.
Closely monitors manufacturing operational performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Skillful utilization of systems and reports to enhance production and impact company success.
Develop action plans to improve shift performance in these areas.
Ensures the enforcement of company rules and policies and in completing necessary paperwork.
Provide performance feedback to the team and work to continually develop their skills.
Support career development plans for the team.
Build a highly engaged team.
Effectively communicate and create a culture of continuous improvement.
Facilitate the recognition of all Team members who achieve positive result

Knowledge in QS9000/TS16949 & ISO14000.
Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)
High school diploma or equivalency required.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must have valid drivers license, acceptable driving record, along with adequate auto insurance.
Good communication skills, oral and written.
Good problem solving skills.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
Advanced knowledge of plastic injection molding preferred.
Ability to inspect production for quality defects.
