Job Title: Production Manager

The Production Manager responsibilities include master production scheduling, operational resource planning, staffing, equipment maintenance and key participation in capital expenditure planning and execution. This role reports to and works closely with the Plant Manager.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Meeting and exceeding customer requirements including on-time product delivery, customer specifications, and product quality
- Developing, maintaining, and leading effective scheduling efforts for maximum workforce efficiency and throughput daily
- Utilizing ERP systems to generate and receipt BOMs, review inventory, and update production schedules
- Balancing competing priorities including inventory levels, changeover time, production run time, and staff levels
- Coordinating and leading production teams, assigning tasks, providing training, and addressing staff concerns
- Communicate updates on related activities to the team when required including customer service, logistics, sales, purchasing, human resources, accounting, technical and IT
- Analyzing data and workflow to identify areas for improvement within the scheduling and production processes
- Creating and implementing effective work procedures to drive continuous improvement
- Work with the Regulatory Compliance Manager to ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance requirements are followed while creating a safety conscious work environment
- Working with the Operations team to maintain required inventory levels and oversee full and cycle inventory counts.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical) or relevant post secondary education
- Minimum of 10 years experience as a Production Manager which can include a progression of increasing responsibilities included directing staff in manufacturing, ideally within a chemical processing environment
- Knowledge of Quality Management System QMS)/ISO 9001 standards
- Strong hands-on leadership skills and collaborative spirit to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence with urgency and accuracy
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and flexibility in dealing with constantly shifting priorities and tight deadlines
- Manufacturing experience in adhesives or related industry is an asset
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems is an asset
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft office software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, Share Point)
