Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized therapeutic and occupational programs to enhance skill development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Plan and facilitate group and individual activities to promote occupational development and build necessary work-related skills.
- Communicate proactively with clients, their family members, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of services, compliance with safety procedures, and the documentation of services provided.
- Provide direct care services, including assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, food preparation, mobility, community access, and recreational activities.
- Offer transportation services to and from job opportunities and related activities for program participants.
- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of occupational programs, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Strong independent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to effectively interact with clients, family members, and co-workers.
- A genuine commitment to serving individuals with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular focus on Excel.
- High School diploma or GED required; college degree or some college preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the healthcare or home care field.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and modalities for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to move, transport, or position up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to navigate office spaces and client homes, including climbing stairs.
- Clear and effective communication to exchange information with clients, family members, and co-workers.
- Regular travel required on a daily or weekly basis, including in inclement weather.
