Full Time: 40 hours per week

Role Summary

The Development Coordinator is the behind-the-scenes powerhouse that keeps our fundraising efforts running smoothly—think of the person in every superhero movie who’s in the chair, at the computer, ensuring the mission succeeds. This role is crucial to the team, providing key development operations support to help achieve the mission of Help & Hope Center.

The Development Coordinator supports all fundraising functions, including managing data and gift processing in Salesforce, documenting departmental processes and procedures, conducting prospect research, and providing fundraising-related administrative support for the Executive Director and Director of Development. They will also manage annual giving, working closely with the Marketing, Communications, and Donor Engagement position(s) to execute fundraising strategy. Additionally, this position may manage a small portfolio of individual donors.

The Development Coordinator must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), attention to detail, and familiarity with or willingness to learn Salesforce (as a donor CRM) to accomplish the annual fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

· Provides administrative support to the development department, including arranging schedules, appointments, and calls.

· Establishing and maintaining filing systems.

· Responds to special administrative support needs for the development team.

· Maintains lists of prospective donors – individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations – and creates philanthropic profiles of prospects for leadership and major gifts.

· Oversees receipt of donor gifts and maintenance of gift of records and acknowledgments; and works with Director of Finance to record gifts.

· Contributes to the Development Department’s donor care efforts.

· Manages donor database (Salesforce); ensures data cleanliness and accuracy; builds reports to support data-driven decision making at the leadership level.

· Provides fundraising financial/donor reports to key staff.

· Helps develop fundraising marketing materials such as brochures, letters, and emails.

· Notifies board committee members of meetings in a timely manner.

· Prepares meeting materials, supporting documents, and minutes/notes.

· Monitors and supports the work of all development volunteers.

· Implements fundraising initiatives with appropriate staff and volunteers.

· Assists in planning and executing donor events.

· May manage a small portfolio (20-30 individuals) of broad-based and middle-donors.

· Available to attend development-related volunteer meetings, events and other HHC events on evenings and weekends.

· Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Development.

Qualifications

· Education: BA/BS Degree preferred

· Experience: 3-5 years of development experience, administrative experience

· Proficient with Salesforce as a donor CRM or equivalent

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
