Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advocate - Wagoner County
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Wagoner Co. Sheriffs Domestic Violence Resource Officer (DVRO) in serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
- Provide Crisis Intervention - Face to Face and Crisis Hotline response to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Wagoner Co.
- Provide immediate sexual assault response for the Help-In-Crisis SANE program operating out of Wagoner Community Hospital
- Participate in all CCR and SART meetings in Wagoner Co.
- Participate in all Help in Crisis sponsored DV/SA Month activities in Wagoner Co.
- Collect and maintain all data required for OVW grant and HIC reporting
- Provide client transportation to access services or Help in Crisis shelter (Tahlequah)
- Provide education and/or training for law enforcement, DVRO, and WCSO concerning victim response, (DV, SA, and SANE) and HIC services
- Provide and receive referrals for client services from DVRO, OneFire Victim's Services, and WCSO
- Provide DV/SA victims assistance in seeking Protective Orders in Wagoner Co.
- Other duties as requested by Executive Director
Requirements:
Knowledge concerning domestic violence and sexual assault; experience in working with victims of domestic violence/sexual assault is a plus; dependable transportation; ability to communicate with the public (including public speaking for groups); willingness to abide by the policies and philosophy of Help-In-Crisis related to victim’s services; ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect every victim's privacy
