What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff position at Helping Hands Adult Day Care Program?
Must be at least 18 years of age and should have a background or experience with developmentally disabled adults. Must have a high school diploma or GED. First Aid and CPR certification required, however we will provide the training if needed. Live Scan fingerprinting, and current physical and T.B. test, references required. We will assist in providing for fingerprinting.
Job duties include:
Assisting clients with bathrooming and changing diapers as needed. Includes transferring from wheelchair to toilet or onto changing bed. Training and use of Hoyer lift and use of lift belt. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Assist clients eating. Some clients need full assistance (feeding), hand over hand assistance to encourage skills.
Support and assist clients working on mobility skills, bearing weight. Assist with wheelchairs to and from locations on-site and in the community. Work with clients on various goals and objectives.
Program is set up in an on site setting.
