Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other related needs. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
- Support clients in community integration activities, encouraging participation in social events and outings.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Monitor vital signs as needed and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Document client progress and communicate effectively with family members and other caregivers.
Skills
- Experience in medication administration is highly desirable.
- Background in home care or community care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response techniques.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities.
- Ability to perform basic cooking tasks to prepare nutritious meals for clients.
- Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living space for clients.
- Understanding of hospice care principles is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
