We do not duplicate available services; instead, we build strong collaborative partnerships with local programs and foster connections between participants and our community partners.
Position Summary
- Supervise shelter activities to ensure the safety of participants.
- Responsible for shelter intakes, reentry interviews, and after-hours referrals.
- Manage timely bunk assignments, dorm inspections, and property storage.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently. Ability to appropriately assess a situation and take corrective action as necessary.
- Written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills and phone etiquette.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate logs, shift reports, and participant records, both manually and using a web-based program.
- Perform urinalysis and breathalyzer testing of participants as needed.
- Attend agency and program staff meetings.
- Facilitate problem-solving and provide crisis intervention services to participants as necessary.
- The right individual for this position has a passion for helping others, is nonjudgmental, and is able to deal with difficult situations in positive and constructive ways.
- Experience working with homeless / low-income population helpful.
- Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
- Part-time up to 24 hours per week, graveyard shift, $18.90 per hour
