Physical Therapy Assistant Job Duties
Assists the physical therapist primarily in an out patient environment to implement established treatment programs. Participates in patient care, education and research. Perform selected treatment procedures delegated to him or her that are commensurate with his or her education and training. Perform tasks related to the routine operation of the service as assigned. Delivery of patient care is individualized relative to age/develop mental, psychology-socio-cultural patient treatment needs.
Qualifications
License or Certification:
- Must be in possession of current state license or certification on or before the first day of employment.
- CPR certification, TB skin test, Auto Insurance, and Driver License
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited two year program for physical therapy assistants. Licensed to practice in the state of Alabama.
Physical Requirements:
- Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements
