Helpmate, Inc., a domestic violence agency in Asheville, NC, seeks to hire a temporary full-time Intake Specialist at the Buncombe County Family Justice Center. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Case Management Coordinator. The temporary position with Helpmate will last through June 30th, with the opportunity to be considered for permanent employment with Buncombe County when the role transitions on July 1, 2025.
Strong communication, detail orientation, organization, and time management skills are required. The Intake Specialist will provide in-person intake and hotline support to survivors of abuse at the Buncombe County Family Justice Center. Duties will include communication of highly detailed information to people in crisis, database entry, coordination of services among multiple providers, and working as a team. Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or 2 years’ experience in social work or related field, with preference for experience in domestic violence or related field, or a commensurate combination of work and experience.
Base rate is $20.14/hour, with additional pay incentives for up to 10 years’ relevant experience and fluency in Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, or Moldovan, resulting in a maximum range of $24.71/hour. Helpmate is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Diverse candidates encouraged to apply.
