Helpsy is a certified B Corp dedicated to keeping clothing out of landfills. Annually the world produces 92 million tons of textile waste annually, 85% of it ends up in the trash when most could be reused or recycled. Across our network we collect a piece of clothing every second or ~31 million lbs per year. Helpsy collects clothing from drop off bins, clothing drives and thrift store partnerships. Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced New England Regional Manager to oversee operations in MA and NH. In this role you will be responsible for the region’s profitability overall, manage existing locations, drivers, and warehouse operations. A key component of driving this region’s success will be sales and the ability to secure more pick up locations, including thrift stores and bin hosts. A second key function is to drive operational efficiency and reduce theft from collection locations, thereby improving the value and quality of clothing collected. Helpsy’s New England region includes a warehouse in Woburn MA, ~300 pickup locations, ~30 thrift store locations, and also serves the Boston area with home pickups and dozens of annual clothing drives.
Requirements:
- Reside in the greater Boston area, and have the ability to travel within the region on a regular basis
- Sales and management experience
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Self-starter and motivated to drive productivity
- Previous experience using google suite preferred
Availability Requirements:
- Routinely work at least 1 weekend day as part of a 5-day schedule
- Travel to all locations in your region including frequent ride-alongs with drivers
Responsibilities: Drive Value
- Take responsibility for and improve regional P&L
- Sign up new collection bin hosts, clothing drives, and thrift stores
- Increase the value of what we collect by reducing theft Optimize Operations Maintain Safety
- Improve operation efficiency and use available tools to optimize collections
- Supervise drivers and warehouse staff in Woburn MA
- Oversee truck maintenance for the New England vehicles with support from Helpsy's Logistics Director and Chief of Staff of Collections
- Maintain safety best practices, training, and documentation to reduce operational risks for our employees and the company Customer Service Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the region
- Address customer concerns and feedback promptly
Organization & Support
- In this role you will report to Helpsy Collect’s General Manager
- You will collaborate with other regional managers and Helpsy management, including the co-founders
- You will be supported by the Director of Logistics in optimizing routes and truck management
- You will be supported by our Loss Prevention team in theft reduction efforts
