Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Head of Commercial to lead the commercial strategy and operations of our growing pharmaceutical company. The Commercial Head will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance the company’s position in the pharmaceutical industry. This executive-level position will oversee the marketing, sales, pricing, market access, and customer engagement functions and will collaborate closely with the Swiss international team to ensure the success of our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute the company’s commercial strategy, aligning with the overall corporate vision and growth objectives.
- Lead and inspire the commercial team (sales, marketing, market access, customer service) to drive high performance and accountability.
- Partner with executive leadership team to set strategic goals and ensure alignment with long-term business objectives.
- Market Expansion & Revenue Growth:
- Identify and seize opportunities for market expansion and revenue generation, including entering new markets, launching new products, and optimizing current product performance.
- Drive the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies for key product lines.
- Oversee and guide the development of pricing, contracting, and rebate strategies in alignment with market dynamics and business goals.
- Sales & Marketing:
- Lead and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to deliver innovative and effective marketing campaigns and sales programs that drive product adoption and customer engagement.
- Implement strategies to increase market penetration, customer loyalty, and competitive positioning of the company’s products.
- Ensure that marketing strategies are fully aligned with patient and physician needs, market trends, and regulatory standards.
- Market Access & Reimbursement:
- Oversee market access strategies, ensuring optimal product pricing, reimbursement, and formulary inclusion.
- Engage with key stakeholders including payers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies to ensure the company’s products are accessible and reimbursed across all target markets.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with applicable regulatory, legal, and ethical standards.
- Mitigate commercial risks by implementing robust risk management processes across marketing, sales, and customer-facing functions.
- Team Development & Collaboration:
- Build and lead a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
- Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with R&D, operations, finance, and regulatory teams to optimize product lifecycle management and align commercial strategies.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all commercial activities.
- Regularly report on commercial performance to the CEO and board, including sales forecasts, market trends, and customer insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in an executive commercial leadership role (e.g., VP or CCO).
- Proven track record of successfully launching and growing pharmaceutical products across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical market landscape, including sales, marketing, market access, and regulatory environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced, and highly regulated environments.
- Experience in both established product markets and new product launches is a plus.
