Accessioning Technician
Employment Type - Full-time
Location: Tinley Park, On-Site
Job Overview:
Supports the delivery of patient care by performing and providing excellent customer service, data entry services, and task related duties within the laboratory.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Requisitions and Specimen Receipt.
- Handling and Assessment of Clinical Samples.
- Properly identify samples and sites where tests are performed.
- Accurate and timely accession the patient, testing and specimen information into laboratory information system (LIS), and initial troubleshooting of problems.
- Accurate labeling of samples.
- Prepare and aliquot send out specimens.
- Provide customer service to clients, patients, and support within the lab.
- Bachelors Degree Preferred.
- Personal computer and data entry skills (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
- Candidates with no experience will be considered.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be able to assimilate to a changing work environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Exceptional decision-making skills and good judgment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Works well under pressure.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of personnel.
