What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cytogenetics Laboratory Aide position at Hematologics?
HematoLogics has an exciting opportunity for a laboratory aide to join our Cytogenetics team at our clinical laboratory facilities located on the beautiful Seattle waterfront. This is a full time and on-site position. The Cytogenetics Laboratory Aide supports the clinical laboratory in various quality assurance and maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform laboratory support duties, including filing, label making, collating slides or files, archiving, scanning set up forms etc. under the general direction of the Cytogenetic supervisor
- Perform duties in various labs as designated
- Participate in inventory control and restocking of reagents and supplies
- Prepare and label reagents
- Perform the appropriate quality assurance, maintenance, and documentation necessary for reagents and equipment
- Perform various aspects of the wet lab processes as permitted and as directed by assigned team lead and/or director
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality management policies, including documentation of quality assurance activities
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Weekday shift Monday through Friday while training and may include Saturday/weekend rotations as scheduled. Tentative shift hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (subject to change, defined by assigned duties)
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science is preferred but not required. An Associate of Science degree and/or equivalent professional experience will be strongly considered
- Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
- Works successfully in a team environment
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Passion for providing high-quality and industry-leading diagnostic services as well as patient care
- Deeply committed to continuous learning

Compensation & Benefits Package:
HematoLogics offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package which includes medical, vision, and dental insurance with 100% of monthly premiums paid by the company for employees and 50% of premiums paid for an employee’s spouse/partner/dependents. Long-term disability coverage is provided with 100% of monthly premiums paid for by the company. We offer up to 6% match at 6 months tenure and beyond for 401K contributions by the employee. Vacation is distributed on an accrual basis. At 1 year tenure, an employee will have accrued 12 days vacation. 10 days of Sick Time off will be front-loaded and available upon your start date. 11 paid holidays. We offer tuition reimbursement, anniversary awards, profit-sharing bonuses, 100% coverage of ORCA card or $50 per month onsite parking, and a variety of other benefits to recognize our team’s meaningful contributions to patient care and the company.
