Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description:
- Accurately measure, count, and label prescribed medications.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled correctly, including reviewing the medication name, dosage, and instructions.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and health products.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while assisting customers.
- Track and manage inventory, ensuring the pharmacy has a sufficient stock of medications and supplies.
- Assist with ordering medications and supplies.
- Organize the storage of medications according to their categories and regulatory requirements.
- Properly store medications, including controlled substances, per regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of pharmacy areas.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies.
- Some technicians may assist in compounding medications, preparing specialized doses, or mixing medications as prescribed by a pharmacist.
- Handle administrative tasks such as managing prescription logs, updating patient files, and performing billing and insurance verifications.
- In certain settings, pharmacy techs may help with medication therapy reviews and assist patients in understanding proper medication use.
