High level summary of job
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op is open to qualified and highly committed students enrolled in college located locally to the Hemlock Semiconductor site. It allows the selected student to work side-by-side with engineers and skilled professionals to assist with testing and implementing a manufacturing execution system. This role is a year-round position while the student is simultaneously taking classes.
Essential functions of the job
The student will be assigned tasks and projects based on their education level, current skills, and targeted development opportunities in line with current business and project needs. This can include:
- Developing an understanding of the manufacturing processes
- Updating and distributing operational documentation
- Evaluating system performance via end-to-end testing and communicating status
- Participating on project teams for developing and implementing improvements

- Effective organizational skills leading to proper prioritization and coordination of multiple activities
- Knowledge / Expertise in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams)

Education Requirements.
High School diploma
Preferred field of study: Engineering, Information Systems, or Supply Chain.
HSC College Co-ops must maintain the following:
- Candidate must be attending a local 2-year college or 4-year university and pursing a degree in a similar field of study.
- Minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale.
- Must be full-time student (12 or more credits) during fall and winter semesters.
- Candidate must be able to work 20-28 hours per week during fall and winter semesters and up to 40 hours per week in the summer.
- Candidate must be within driving distance to the site and have reliable transportation.
Work Experience
Work environment is primarily in an office setting with a large percentage of time spent in the manufacturing areas of the plant. Mobility to various work/manufacturing areas is required.
The range for this position is - assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, variable bonus, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
