This role is on-site in Durham, North Carolina - working remotely from other parts of the country is not an option for this role, so all candidates must be local or planning to move for this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to develop requirements and design specifications, as well as other design control documentation.
- Develop solutions to meet requirements, and design specifications, which may utilize one or more of the following disciplines:
- Mechanical design
- Electrical design (analog or digital)
- Ultrasonics
- Pneumatic/Fluidic control
- Temperature control
- Signal processing techniques
- Develop and execute unit tests.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Support system verification and validation testing activities.
- Under general supervision, plans, designs and performs development as assigned.
- Suggests improvements in and adaptations to methodologies, processes, products, and systems related to projects.
- Participates in engineering meetings and presents technical findings.
- Applies standard principles, theories and concepts in the field and has working knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Tests, analyzes, and interprets data and development situations/events requiring evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to problems with broad scope and complexity.
- Keeps abreast of technical knowledge in the field.
- Designs and performs development working independently within defined parameters with minimal supervision required.
- Identifies potential vendors for components.

- Microsoft Office Suite (required)
- Knowledge of the following is preferred:
- Electrical circuit design
- Injection molding
- FDA Design Regulations
- In-vitro diagnostic systems
- Diagnostic ultrasound
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 0 years with Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 2 years with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
