The Facility Cleaning / Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment across our facilities. This position is vital to ensuring a welcoming and hygienic space for staff and visitors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Facility Cleaning / Custodian position duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of floors, furniture, and surfaces.
2. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restocking supplies.
3. Ensure hallways, lobby, breakroom, and meeting rooms are kept tidy and free of obstacles.
4. Clean mirrors and glass partitions using appropriate cleaning solutions.
5. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
6. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
7. Ensure proper use and care of cleaning equipment and materials.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as needed.
9. Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
10. Provide other services and perform other tasks as requested or assigned by the Township Manager.
Education & Experience:
1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
2. Previous custodial or cleaning experience is preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The individual must possess the following skills and abilities or be able to demonstrate that they can perform the essential function of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
2. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
3. Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed.
4. Must obtain all Pennsylvania Act 153 Child Abuse Clearances and CPR and First Aid Certifications.
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, and devise solutions to immediate problems without much time for consideration.
6. Understanding of the English Language.
