Hempler Foods Group is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist who will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing process for goods and services to support business operations, under the guidance of the Procurement Manager. This role includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining cost-effectiveness across procurement activities. The Procurement Specialist collaborates closely with internal teams to identify procurement needs, optimize supplier relationships, and actively contribute to cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery capabilities. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Communicate with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchase orders and deliveries.
Generate, track, and manage purchase orders in Ross ERP to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of material or service requirements.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms for the company.
Collaborate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels, prevent shortages, and avoid overstocking.
Conduct cycle counts, as well as monthly and quarterly audits, to maintain accurate inventory records.
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts with suppliers. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and inventory status to management.
Work closely with internal departments (e.g., production, operations, finance) to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely availability of materials and services.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the procurement cycle, including supplier relationship management, purchasing procedures, and cost management.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions for auditing and reporting purposes.
Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of past procurement experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
ERP Software experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs
Experience with ERP software. ROSS experience is a plus.
Detail-oriented.
Team player.
Professional communication (written, spoken).

WAGE & BENEFITS
$26.68 - $32.74 per hour
