Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution center. This position is responsible for managing the flow of goods into and out of the facility, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring that all shipments are processed efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory levels and manage stock accurately.
- Process outgoing shipments by preparing packages, labeling, and arranging transportation.
- Maintain accurate records in the AS400 system and assist with MRP processes.
- Fulfill orders by picking items from stock and preparing them for shipment.
- Operate forklifts safely to move large items or pallets within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment for e-commerce operations.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in using RF scanners for inventory management.
- Familiarity with AS400 systems and MRP software is preferred.
- Basic math skills for accurate counting and record keeping.
- Experience in order fulfillment processes and package preparation.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in shipping/receiving roles is a plus.
