Position
Henderson Health Care Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time, RN/LPN for its long term care facility, Legacy Square.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assure resident safety.
- Participate in committees as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
- Responsible for assigning, delegating and/or directing to other nursing personnel the direct nursing care of the specific residents on the basis of staff qualifications, facility layout, characteristics of the resident load, and the emotional, social and nursing care needs of the residents, Completion of compliance rounds to monitor nursing personnel and assure completion of shift duties.
- Responsible for direction of and monitoring of nursing assistants and medication aides.
- Be knowledgeable and responsive to the physical and emotional needs of all residents.
- Responsible for complete and accurate medication administration. Report medication errors when found.
- Provide direct resident care as required.
- Participate in the review, revision and implementation of residents’ plan of care.
- Notify the Director of Nursing, physician, and family of changes in resident condition.
- Complete documentation describing nursing care provided, including resident response and status. Including behavior sheets, fall reports, skin assessment, updating of 24 hour report sheet.
- Be able to carry out comprehensive communication between shifts.
- Implement physician’s orders in a timely and complete manner.
- Ability to perform education, discipline and/or counseling of residents and other care staff members.
- Communicate to Director of Nursing staffing problems.
- Orientation of new staff members to duties and organizations of the facility.
- Communicate to Director of Nursing problems in relation to other departments in the facility.
- Knowledge of all policies and procedures for the facility.
- Perform all other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing
- Report to the MDS Coordinator in absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Assume the authority, function and daily activity of the Rosewood Medication Aides in the absence of the Rosewood Court Resident Services Coordinator or Director of Nursing.
- Direct staffing problems when necessary.
- Abide by employee immunization/vaccination policies.

Education and/or Experience
Current Nebraska licensed R.N. or L.P.N. Experience in geriatric nursing and supervisory experience is desirable.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
CPR required (BLS).
