Henderson Engineers is seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our team in Houston. The employee is responsible for executing building commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks on projects to include field observation and testing, report generation and project planning. The employee performs testing, adjusting and balancing tasks, makes site visits, attends meetings, and communicates with clients and sub-contractors ensuring project success. The employee documents all processes/issues and compiles final reports to be sent to clients.

Execute building commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks on projects to include: field observation and testing, report generation, and project planning
Perform field observations and testing of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, technology, security and fire systems
Execute installation verification and functional performance testing on-site for multiple project types
Create written reports to document system performance deficiencies
Assist in the creation of testing documentation and project planning
Help guide others in the commissioning process
Develop and maintain client and trade partner relationships
Serve as a third-party to design teams and assist in meeting the established projects goals
Perform troubleshooting and/or provide resolution for MEP Systems

Have a degree in Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Construction Engineering/Management is preferred
Have at least 1-3 years of relevant experience
Have test and balance experience and are certified with ACG or NEBB (is a huge plus!)
Experience or interest in the automation and controls systems of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire alarm/life safety systems, lighting and lighting controls and test and balance
Experience with design of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial, institutional and light industrial facilities as they relate to commissioning
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
Ability to read and understand Blueprints
Possess organization skills and are detail oriented.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Travel is expected, can be up to 50% depending on project workload
The ability to be flexible and travel with little notice is preferred
