What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Electrical Designer or Engineer - Mission Critical position at Henderson Companies?
As a data center electrical design engineer on the mission critical team, you will be exclusively focused on designing and re-designing data centers for our clients across the United States. The most qualified candidates for this role will have experience designing data centers as large as 30 megawatts .
Key Responsibilities:
Design of core and shell layouts, data halls, and redesigns of data centers
Contributes to strategic decisions involving technical expertise and development needs in response to current and future industry demands.
BIM Mapping
Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects
Evaluates products for their application
Provides technical guidance to electrical designers
Identifies and seeks to fill gaps in industry and/or discipline knowledge on a continuous basis
Maintains knowledge and understanding of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Products. Acts as a resource for training or assisting others as needed
Research and reviews new products, industry trends and evolving codes and standards
Understands and applies Henderson’s design guidelines, standards, policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (ie: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of experience without degree required. Professional Engineering (PE) license may be counted toward 1 year of direct experience.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Experience with mission critical design
Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards required. Knowledge applicable to a range of practices, project or program types preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of mission critical standard equipment elements
Experience designing data centers from start to finish
Experience with medium voltage designs
