Overview : The CTE Program Specialist serves as a vital support resource for teachers and students within the largest Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center in the state of Kentucky. This position is designed to enhance instructional leadership and foster a collaborative educational environment that promotes student success and teacher development.
Requirements :
Proper Kentucky teaching certification. Must also hold a valid Supervisor of Instruction certification, Principalship certification OR Program Consultant certification in the area of specialization. (Consultant certification requires Masters degree, 3 years teaching experience and an active teaching certification.)
This person must possess qualities of effective leadership and knowledge of instructional strategies for the CTE unit. Communication skills and interpersonal traits that personify excellence will be necessary for this position. Excellent computer / technology skills are required.
Details :
Salary commensurate with years of teaching experience and rank plus stipend.
Working 200 days.
Program Specialist Job Duties :
- Provide specialized support to occupationally based teachers and new CTE teachers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance necessary for success.
- Assist the CTE Principal in providing instructional leadership through classroom walkthroughs, feedback, and coaching to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Act as a school wide liaison for specialty CTE items, including but not limited to Safety and OSHA requirements, Dual credit agreements, and Course prerequisites.
- Utilize CTE resources to support the school wide Response to Intervention (RTI) process, ensuring that all students receive the necessary interventions and support.
- Facilitate professional development workshops and training sessions for CTE staff, focusing on instructional best practices, CTE instructional standards, and compliance with CTE state / federal regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external partners to promote CTE programs and ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Shall perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
