Start Date: 2/3/2025; Permanent Full Time with Full Benefits
12 month, 40 hours per week
NATURE OF WORK:
Employee will perform several duties in the maintenance and repair of low voltage electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Work includes the independent performance of less technical tasks of the low voltage electrical trade for which detailed instructions are available. As experience is gained, more technical tasks are performed under supervision. Simple problems are resolved by the employee with more complex problems referred to the supervisor. Errors could result in loss of life and/or extensive damage to property. Work is reviewed to determine that assigned tasks are completed satisfactorily. This employee receives direct supervision.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Installs building automation controllers, Voip phones, security cameras, card access readers, intercom telephones, and other low voltage components.
Cuts, threads, and bends conduit and pulls wire through conduit.
Replaces defective wiring and makes connections to low voltage installations being renovated.
Replaces faulty low voltage components.This position requires pulling of wire through ceilings, conduits, and cabling trays.
This position requires the ability to work off ladders and scissor lifts on a regular basis. Makes minor repairs to equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of low voltage systems, maintenance, and repair.
Some knowledge of the practices and methods of the electrical trade.
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment of the low voltage and electrical trade. Ability to understand and work from simple pencil drawings.
Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
SUGGESTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Sufficient experience in performing a variety of tasks associated with low voltage work or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. Experience in cabling, voip phones, fire alarm systems, access controls and building automation are a plus.
