Overview:

The High School Work-Based Learning (WBL) Instructor plays a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that provide students with hands-on learning experiences. This position is responsible for managing co-op students, apprenticeship programs, internships, job shadowing, and School-Based Enterprises, ensuring that students gain valuable industry experience while developing their professional skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Oversee the implementation and management of work-based learning opportunities, including co-op placements, apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing, and School-Based Enterprises.

  • Assist in the placement of students in appropriate work-based learning opportunities that align with their career goals and educational objectives.
  • Actively recruit industry partners and businesses to participate in the work-based learning program, building strong relationships to enhance opportunities for students.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor student progress, evaluate the effectiveness of placements, and ensure compliance with program standards.
  • Work closely with CTE program instructors to integrate classroom learning with real-world experiences, ensuring a seamless transition for students into the workforce.
  • Assist in instilling a high level of professionalism among student participants, providing guidance on workplace expectations, communication skills, and career readiness.
  • Collect and analyze data related to student placements and program outcomes to assess the effectiveness of work-based learning initiatives and make necessary improvements.
  • Document evaluations and feedback in Infinite Campus to track student performance and program effectiveness.
  • Report student hours and program participation to necessary state agencies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • The teacher shall perform any other duties as assigned by the administration.
