Henderson Companies is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Lenexa, KS. The Chief Financial Officer directs and oversees the financial activities of the corporation, including maintenance of financial systems, accounting tasks, FP&A, audit and tax compliance, firm valuation, reporting to the board, and strategic financial insight to the CEO and leadership team, all while maintaining strong bank and vendor relationships.
Minimum Qualifications for the Role are :
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Fifteen years of progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- Ten years of professional leadership experience
- Five years in the A / E / C industry
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; ability to build financial models and perform data analysis.
- Demonstrated strong understanding and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Honest and trustworthy with a deep commitment to integrity.
- Futuristic and forward-thinking mindset; ability to communicate and inspire people.
- Willingness to give and receive difficult feedback and display confidence and courage in addressing difficult or complex issues.
- Strives for achievement; is tenacious, resilient and takes initiative.
- Possesses high emotional intelligence and builds effective relationships with others, encompassing communication, empathy, active listening, situational awareness, influence, and negotiation.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills with the ability to lead, develop and inspire team members.
