Job Summary
Henderson Equine Clinic is seeking a highly motivated self starter with a broad range of technical skills. Must work well under pressure and be willing to work long hours during peak spring season. Conduct oneself in a professional and proficient manner with confidence while protecting patient/client confidentiality.
Assist the Veterinarian by freeing their mind and hands so they may focus solely on the medical treatment of the patient and be able to communicate effectively with the client/owner. This may include any or all of the following: stocking the truck, setting up equipment, handling horses, taking care of patient paperwork and clinical records, billing the client, taking payments and cleaning up after appointment. Attention to detail and ability to keep the Vet on time for all daily scheduled appointments. Ability to drive when necessary.
Negotiable pay depending on experience. Part Time or Full Time possible. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Minimum High School grad/GED equivalent required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring the safety of all parties: yourself, the veterinarian, client and patient.
- Assisting the Veterinarian
- Maintaining Daily Schedules and ensuring that all equipment and medications for
the day are stocked on the vehicle
- Laboratory maintenance and management.
- Patient Advocate.
- Facilities professionalism.
- Equipment maintenance and service
- Vehicle maintenance
- Clinic maintenance
- Client grounds and facilities maintenance
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide coverage and support to co-workers.
- Excellent client relations relative to scheduling, laboratory management,
communications, client education.
- Financial management including: Invoicing, accounts payable, and medication pricing.
- Records management of client files and patient records.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have experience with horses.
