Responsibilities:
The Camp Counselor will be directly responsible for the safety, supervision, leadership and guidance for a group of campers.

- Greet campers and parents with a smile
- Assist with group activities, bathroom monitoring, changing for swim and swim time, snack time and lunch. Play and interact with campers and promote the YMCA character traits
- Never assume complete control of a group
- Be aware of your surroundings and always be safety conscious
- Report any problems to a Team Leader or the Director
- Interact with the children during games, activities, and programs – remember to come down to their level
- Bring swimsuit every day
- Aid in cleaning up areas after all activities
- Be sure to supervise in the bathrooms always
- Set the example – be a role model
- Attend staff meetings and Family Night Activities
- Know the YMCA character traits – Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility - and demonstrate them; discuss these with the campers when appropriate
- Have respect for your co-workers and help one another – be sure to show the same respect to the campers
- Have fun!
- Other duties as required
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must know how to swim
- CPR certified or pass CPR certification class within 30 days of employment
- Experience preferred but not required
