Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Youth Development, the Nursery Attendant is responsible for responding to needs in the nursery and ensures the safety of all participants. Delivers excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants. The Nursery Attendant is responsible for managing the functions of the program in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff and Board of Directors.

- Maintains the safety of each child in the nursery; ensures the parent/guardian remains in the facility during the duration of the nursery stay
- Greets everyone as they enter the nursery; provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the facility
- Maintains awareness of safety procedures and policies
- Ensures that each parent/guardian signs the nursery policy and is aware of the rules
- Keeps accurate attendance records with arrival and departure times. Ensures that children arrive and depart with a parent/guardian
- Supervises infants, toddlers, and children
- Changes diapers/gives bottles, if necessary, with parents written consent
- Keeps the nursery equipment and play area clean
- Recognizes that the success of the YMCA depends on all staff working together and being a team player means willingness to assist other staff members in doing whatever is required to make the YMCA successful
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous childcare or related experience preferred
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid
- Excellent interpersonal skills with children and adults
- Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds
