Position Overview:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic school counselor to support our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. The counselor will provide developmentally appropriate services that promote academic success, social/emotional development, and a positive school climate.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver classroom guidance lessons on topics such as friendship, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and personal safety.
Provide short-term individual and group counseling to address specific student needs.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to identify and support students requiring additional assistance.
Participate in student support team meetings and help develop behavioral and academic intervention plans.
Promote a positive school culture through programs and initiatives (e.g., Kindness Week, Start with Hello Week, Red Ribbon Week, etc.).
Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and assist with referrals to outside support services when needed.
Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with school policy and ethical standards.
Qualification:
Master's degree in School Counseling.
Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or counseling setting preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Passion for working with young children and helping them grow.
