Job Description
Title: Store Manager
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
1. Statement of the Position-
To oversee the complete and efficient operation of a convenience store and employees by performing the following duties either personally or through subordinates.
2. Duties and Responsibilities-
A. General Management
- -Ensure the store is open and operating during established business hours. This
- will require working odd hours and covering shifts.
- -Keep Operations Supervisor well informed on store activities and employees’
- performance.
- -Work with subordinates to ensure compliance of company policies
- and procedures.
- -Alert appropriate personnel of store needs (i.e. equipment, maintenance etc.)
- -Making bank deposits per company policy.
- -Order and maintain productive levels of inventory.
- -Ensure store appearance meets company standards.
- -Work a minimum of 20 hours per week on the register.
- -Be able to perform all subordinate job duties.
B. Controls/Security
- -Control losses encountered through inventory and cash shortages, theft, waste
- excess operating expenses.
- -Perform cash audits on subordinates.
- -Oversee monthly inventory counts.
- -Investigate cash & inventory variances
C. Bookkeeping
-Complete all paperwork accurately and legibly, and submit as required.
-Complete price changes and markups/markdowns accurately.
-Maintaining the price book.
D. Personnel
- -Train all employees and monitor performance.
- -Perform Performance Evaluations on all subordinates.
- -Responsible for the appearance and conduct of employees.
- -Handle employee complaints and problems, including taking disciplinary action
- when needed.
- -Scheduling employees in compliance with company set budgets.
