About the Role
This position requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities. As the Collision Center Manager, you will oversee the operations, profitability, performance results, department supervision, and customer satisfaction of the Collision Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously work to improve operations within the Collision Center
- Collaborate with upper management and HR to make hiring, disciplinary, and staffing decisions
- Supervise and train Collision Center department employees
- Set schedules and assign tasks to department staff
- Oversee the assessment of repair needs and the development of repair cost estimates
- Communicate with insurance companies to ensure complete coverage of repairs
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with insurance companies to secure and retain DRP (Direct Repair Program) status
- Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness
- Monitor gross profit margins and control expenses
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Attend weekly management meetings
- Ensure strong employee relations and morale
- Maintain a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above company standards
- Ensure a safe, organized, and clean work environment
- Participate in required training programs
- Accurately record all hours worked in the company timekeeping system
- Adhere to Safeguards rules and regulations
- Demonstrate the company's core values in daily work
- Comply with company policies and safety regulations
- Follow all local, state, and federal safety rules and regulations while performing duties
Requirements:
- A Valid Driver's License is required for this position
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Field of Study: Associate's Degree or graduation from an accredited Technical School program in Automotive Technology, Autobody Repair Technology, Collision Repair and Refinish Technology, or a similar field of study preferred
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in the auto collision industry, with extensive knowledge of body repair methods, estimating/auto body service writing, and customer service. Management or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Certifications: I-CAR certification and any relevant OEM certifications are a plus
Work Environment:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Duties are performed primarily in the Collision Center. Due to the nature of the position, may be exposed to various work environments and required to perform a variety of tasks. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, paint-dust, and other body repair shop conditions.
