JOB SUMMARY
- Under the general guidance of the Security Manager, assist in providing security for patents, employees, visitors and physicians; protects hospital buildings, assets and premise as assigned. Adheres to applicable state laws, follows Hendrick Medical Center’s Policy & Security written job guides approved by the department of Security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education
- High School or equivalent
- Minimum Work Experience
- 2 years relevant experience
- The minimum age for Security Officer is 21 years of age by date of appointment.
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officers state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.
- Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction (obtained within 6 months of employment)
- A clear and active Texas Divers License
- Maintain a clear police record
- Ability to pass prescribed course(s) in weapon proficiency
- Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to deal effectively with community/consumers and hospital personnel.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.
- Conduct basic investigations and interview others.
- Operate security electronic equipment including CCTV and access control.
- Handles emergency or crisis situations
- Requires judgment or action that could potentially lead to the use of lethal force.
