JOB SUMMARY
Under the general guidance of the Security Manager, assist in providing security for patents, employees, visitors and physicians; protects hospital buildings, assets and premise as assigned. Adheres to applicable state laws, follows Hendrick Medical Center’s Policy & Security written job guides approved by the department of Security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience
2 years relevant experience
The minimum age for Security Officer is 21 years of age by date of appointment.
Required Licenses / Certifications
Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officers state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.
Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction (obtained within 6 months of employment)
A clear and active Texas Divers License
Maintain a clear police record
Ability to pass prescribed course(s) in weapon proficiency
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to deal effectively with community / consumers and hospital personnel.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.
Conduct basic investigations and interview others.
Operate security electronic equipment including CCTV and access control.
Handles emergency or crisis situations
Requires judgment or action that could potentially lead to the use of lethal force.
