BE THE CEO OF YOUR JOB
As the VP of Safety, you are responsible for leading the continued development and oversight of a comprehensive safety program for the Company to ensure optimal safety performance. You will oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with legally mandated safety regulations; monitor and manage safety risks; assure the implementation and effectiveness of safety risk controls; and promote the integration of safety as a guiding principle in all aspects of the Company. You will lead the development and implementation of safety audits, assessments, data acquisition and analysis, and training to achieve accident reduction/prevention and safety compliance.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and directs the safety committee on creating and implementing safety programs.
- Enforce the Company’s Safety Policy and ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and laws.
- Direct the preparation of comprehensive reports, identifying cause factors and recommending corrective actions. Monitor and ensure implementation of identified corrective actions.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and long-term health hazards.
- Oversee the ongoing development, tracking, and analysis of safety data.
- Prepare and present safety initiatives and performance during Strategic and Safety Committee meetings.
- Ensure identification of action plans for improving compliance with established safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Establish lines of communication in which all employees play an active role in safety compliance and addressing concerns.
- Develop in furthering the safety education of employees by formal classes, seminars, workshops, or sharing information.
- Provide employees with safety-related information such as emergency protocols and proper use of safety equipment.
- Implement change processes and effectively manage resistance.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for continued enhancement of safety activities & capabilities that will scale as the Company grows and evolves.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience and/or Training
- Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Ability to conduct training
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem solving, decision making, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently
Technology/Equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Degree from a two or four-year college or university.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT
- U.S. Work Authorization (required).
