POSITION TITLE: Credit Analyst

REPORTS TO: Senior VP, Lending

POSITION LOCATION: On-site Only | Brownsburg, IN

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

WORKER CATEGORY: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credit Analyst is responsible for contributing to the loan decision-making process and providing in-depth credit analysis on new and existing clients for the Bank. The position will assist in maintaining loan files for adequate and current financial information and documentation sufficient to properly evaluate and document the credit worthiness of existing and prospective clients. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIS:

  • Ensure that all bank policies, procedures, and security measures are followed.
  • Determine the credit worthiness of loan applicants.
  • Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
  • Ensure that all approved applications comply with bank criteria.
  • Complete loan applications, including credit analyses and summaries of loan requests, and submit to loan committees for approval.
  • Generate financial ratios, using computer programs, to evaluate customers' financial status.
  • Analyze financial data, such as income growth, quality of management, and market share to determine expected profitability of loans.
  • Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations.
  • Consult with customers to resolve complaints and verify financial and credit transactions.
  • Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans, based on earnings, savings data, payment history, and purchase activity.
  • Assist with bank and client audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Work Experience – Minimum of 2 years’ relevant and transferrable work-related experience.
  • Technology – Proficient using financial, analytical, banking, and Microsoft office suite software. Knowledge of Abrigo / Sageworks is considered a plus.
  • Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Integrity — Job requires being honest and ethical and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Dependability — Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • Initiative — Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Law and Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

Travel/Work Hours

  • Office Hours:
    • 8am – 5pm: Monday-Friday
  • Occasional travel to other branch locations within Hendricks County to provide assistance, attend meetings, and training sessions may be required.
