Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller role is a hands-on role and will be responsible for leading the accounting function of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting of several corporate entities, inclusive of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Financial Close. This position reports to the CFO and will work closely with senior management to support strategic financial initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
Lead the management of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
Prepare and review accurate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and related financial analysis and reconciliations.
Ensure quality control over the recording of financial transactions and related reporting.
Coordinate and manage interaction with external accountants ensuring timely financial reporting and tax filings.
Work closely with the CFO to develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.
Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Implementing and driving technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Monthly calculation of employee incentive compensation and commission reporting.
Recording and reconciling all intercompany transactions and eliminations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in accounting software, data analysis and financial reporting applications.
Experience in managing an efficient month end close process.
Knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare/present financial reports, statements, and projections.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership skills with dedication to driving and achieving results.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with various departments.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Strong MS Office skills set.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Master’s degree or CPA and public accounting experience a plus.
Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience.
Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
