Position Purpose:
Responsible for supporting plant operations through completion of Engineering and Maintenance projects. Design and develop processes for manufacturing needs. Provide support for fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly departments along with their associated tooling. Supervision and oversight of the maintenance technicians on projects.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the continual improvement of process and product quality.
- Assist with improving methods and reducing costs.
- Ensure that the tools and fixtures required to support our processes are available and are in good working condition.
- Manage the engineering design process, installation, MPAP, and long-term technical support of the manufacturing process while meeting quality, capability, cost and time targets.
- Introduce new parts and processes to support developing products.
- Manage various projects that support product development.
- Coordinate the installation of new production processes in the facility required to produce the trailer products.
- Assure that all applicable quality standards are met in the introduction of trailer products.
- Coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype products or system under direction of Project Engineer or Engineering Manager.
- Create mechanical designs for project work throughout the facility.
- Automate existing processes and lead CAPEX projects
- Responsible for PLC programing and controls support for operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field
- Five to eight plus years experience in manufacturing, preferably in a related industry.
- Formal training in robotic systems, metal fabrication and arc welding is a strong positive.
- Hands-on experience in tooling, fixturing and methods is required.
- Hands-on experience with CAD and CAM technology is a strong positive.
- Experience in Controls or PLC programming is a strong positive.
- Experience in procurement of manufacturing systems and equipment relative to metal working is a strong positive.
- Production experience is a strong positive.
- Should demonstrate excellent problem solving, decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Should be customer focused.
- Constant standing, walking, reaching, and balancing.
- Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Minimal sitting and crawling.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Carry up to 50 lbs. approximately 5 feet.
- Push/Pull 20-40 lbs. of force 40 feet.
- Work environment: Office/Administrative and Industrial/Manufacturing.
