Position/Title: New Products Engineering Co-op/Intern
Status: Full-time/Temporary

Reports To: Engineering Manager
Position Purpose
Assists NP Engineering team in new processes and products development for fabrication, machining, and/or assembly of suspension components for the facility as a student co-op/intern for the purpose of exposure and learning in association with requirements of an engineering degree program.

Position Purpose
Assists NP Engineering team in new processes and products development for fabrication, machining, and/or assembly of suspension components for the facility as a student co-op/intern for the purpose of exposure and learning in association with requirements of an engineering degree program.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the develop, implement, and maintain effective, robust, ergonomic, and safe new product processes.
- Assist & learn to develop continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variable and fixed new product cost.
- Work directly with New Product Development on design for manufacturability for future products.
- Participate on Simultaneous Product Process Development (SPPD) Teams as required.
- Support TS16949 certification initiatives.
- Become familiar with A.P.Q.P. process associated with launching new products.
- Assist engineering team in supporting customers with resolutions to concerns and enhancements for new product applications.
- Work with engineering team to define product and process improvements for potential cost savings.
- Work with New Product Engineering, Quality Department and Production Department to aid in New Product manufacturing issues.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Actively enrolled in an Engineering degree program in pursuit of an engineering related degree.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Drafting Software Knowledge (preferred).
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program in pursuit of degree.
- Fabrication experience preferred.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Good Communication Skills
- Hands-on, systematic individual
- Mechanical aptitude, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
