What are the responsibilities and job description for the FABRICATOR LEAD - 2ND SHIFT position at Hendrickson?
Position Purpose:
The working line lead on the floor; will work with hourly associates to develop and implement the team concept to meet or exceed established customer service goals, productivity levels, safety requirements, product quality standards, and established 5S housekeeping goals.
Essential Functions:
- Work daily with Production Supervisors and schedulers to determine line requirements and maintain a consistent line flow.
- Train new/existing associates and re-enforce training with existing associates.
- Ensure timely delivery and replenishment of parts to minimize downtime.
- Assist Production Supervisor with documentation compliance (production reports, DSC boards, etc.)
- Monitor quality requirements and perform periodic audits to ensure compliance.
- Address daily issues to ensure key objectives are obtained.
- Assist Production Supervisors to ensure lines are staged for oncoming shift.
- Ensure 5S is completed daily and safety issues are identified.
- Ensure daily equipment PM’s are completed.
- Ensure disposition and identification of non-conforming material are completed daily and moved to its specific location.
- Train with & assist technicians with dimensional compliance, downtime issues, robotic touch-ups and TPM discipline as required.
- Assist in the coordination of material management (IE. Finished good shipments, incoming material, Kanban, parts to line, etc...) within the plant.

Education and Training
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited school
- Hendrickson Weld 2G Certification
- Able to obtain a GMAW 2G horizontal (3/8 plate) certification within 6 mos.
- Added plus to be a certified trainer.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to react in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues with scheduling changes and line stoppages.
- Solid communication skills.
- Ability to recognize and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to adapt to change and take proactive approach.
- Competent with all required documentation.
- Ability and willingness to work necessary hours to achieve high standards.
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in welding or metalworking industry.
- Assist on off shifts if necessary.
- Able to obtain a GMAW 2G horizontal (3/8 plate) certification within 6 mos.
- No disciplinary write ups in the last six months, outstanding attendance, and exemplary performance.
